About The Arc
The "fated battle between brothers" refers to the climax of the Uchiha feud in Naruto: Shippūden. Sasuke Uchiha, driven by revenge, tracked his older brother Itachi to an abandoned Uchiha hideout to avenge their slaughtered family.
Naruto and Sasuke begin searching for Itachi for differing reasons: Sasuke seeks vengeance, while Naruto hopes it will lead him back to Sasuke. In the interim, the arc shifts focus to Kakashi's boyhood as a member of Team Minato, illuminating the past of Obito and Rin.

Spanning Episodes 135 to 138, this multi-stage clash sees Itachi intentionally pushing Sasuke to his limits to drain his chakra, purge Orochimaru, and protect his younger brother before succumbinig to illness.

The Death of Itachi
Itachi died from a combination of a terminal illness and extreme chakra exhaustion during their final duel. Long before the fight, he maintained a debilitating condition using medication. Combined with near-blindness from overuse of his Mangekyou Sharingan, his body reached its absolute limit.
Itachi meticulously planned to die by Sasuke's hand to clear his family name and bestow his Mangekyou Sharingan abilities upon his brother.
The Truth of Itachi
Itachi was not a villain, but a tragic hero who sacrificed his reputation and clan to prevent a Leaf Village civil war. Forced by village elders, he eliminated his lineage while sparing Sasuke, choosing to live as a rogue ninja to protect Konoha from the shadows.
He joined Akatsuki to spy from within, ensuring the village remained safe. His ultimate goal was to allow Sasuke to grow strong enough to defeat him, leaving Sasuke remembered as Konoha's hero.
